Its state-of-the-art print engine can be combined with a RFID ICAO 9303 compliant chip reader/encoder and a high definition digital camera to provide governments and administrations with a leading desktop ePassport issuance solution.

Designed to fit in any office environment, the Matica P402i (P4000) is a four color, secure desktop inkjet printer and encoder for machine readable ePassport booklets. Its state-of-the-art print engine can be combined with a RFID ICAO 9303 compliant chip reader/encoder and a high definition digital camera to provide governments and administrations with a leading desktop ePassport issuance solution.

Compact and easy to use, it has an advanced print engine architecture, specifically developed to ensure high performance, reliability and production efficiency.

It is available in two different configurations (pigmented ink and dyes). It uses a four color (CMYK) cartridge high speed thermal inkjet print engine, able to operate in two modes: text and photo. This speeds up the printing process whilst ensuring a high quality printed photograph.

Its large cartridge capacity enables the issuance of up to 8,000 booklets and prevents downtime during operation. Each page can be individually printed or can be personalized in pairs. Its quiet operation makes it the ideal solution for passport booklet issuance in any office environment. The graphical monochrome LCD user interface enables easy, user-friendly operation.

Data encoding and data verification

Encoding and data verification options enable RFID ICAO 9303 compliant chip encoding and chip reading for data verification of ePassports. Visual control is performed via data capture through its high definition digital camera to facilitate data consistency check and data verification. Each booklet is automatically verified by the application before final human visual validation.
